The book "Sociology in Various Contexts" reflects a picture of the current changing world. Sociology, being defined as the science of society, needs to study the rapid changing world from different perspectives. The present globalizing world needs to ever be viewed and analyzed to find out the shortcomings of the societies and provide the necessary solutions concerned. The present book has touched some of them, and a lot is yet remaining. Countries need to plan for, and study their societies according to their national norms and values, but as globalization is continuing, many nations are facing problems. Such nations need further sociological appraisals. Under such circumstances, many developing countries think they are lagging behind. Therefore, they are highly attempting to technologically develop to assimilate the developed-countries standards. Literacy Index for example in Asia has widely reformed; a transformation much closing the gap industrially and technologically. One of the shortcomings of the developing countries is sociologically lack of social work in those countries; leading to social disorders and issues. One of the issues faced by the developing nations has been their population growth, leading to child labor for the help to their families. This phenomenon is widely observed in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Africa as a whole. Asia with a population of 4.6 billion settled in 48 countries is widely sociologically vulnerable. Slum-dwelling, unemployment, economic inflation and many more are widely viewed in many parts of the developing world; a situation needing social, economic and demographic solutions. Many people in developing countries are suffering water and food shortages- needing appropriate means to solve them.
