Abstract

This paper performs an evaluation of the various smartphone platforms based on performance using simulation programs. Different experiments to test the platforms for their performance were conducted by means of some designed applications and the results registered and analyzed. The various applications were used to process string, integers, floating-point numbers and to test how well the memory access algorithm functions. These experiments were conducted on emulators and real smartphones in order to perform a critical analysis of the performance. An evaluation of the platforms by conducting speed performance on the default browsers based on user perceived page loading technique was conducted. Graphs are generated and their results analyzed to determine which of the platforms made significant improvements.
