Abstract

The article presents the results of a case study to examine managers’ representations of the organization in conditions of the internal and external changes. Subject of our research is an organization that provides a mechanism for reproducing the business relationships between individual employees, subdivisions and all its parts. Understanding the contradictions in representations of managers allows to determine the most important moments for the internal changes.

We defend the model of research which includes key characteristics; it allows to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the organization and assess its ability to change. Organizational characteristics for the content analysis were: structure and size; hierarchy; organizational resources; communication and information stream; system of rewards and punishments. The suggested research model has demonstrated its suitability and predictive potential.

We also concluded these factors could be most adequately investigated in a group interview. The first group consisted of top-managers, the other - from middle-managers of the organization. Thus, we found two systems of the representations of the organization detecting its characteristics and stability.

This model allows to study the representations of employees quickly and correctly; to conclude about the contradictions and weaknesses of the organization in compliance with the psychological safety of employees.
