Twelve samples of Zea mays comprising of 3 popular variețięs: Pioneer 306, NS 1 and Western yellow were tested by blotter method for their șeed-þorne pathogenic fungi. The result is an indication of multifarioụs composition of seed-borne fungi. Fusarium moniliforme and Cephalosporium maydis had a high sample infections. While F. moniliforme was encountered in all the samples, Cephalosporium maydis ọccurred in ten of the twelve samples. Due to the growing importance of maize in our economy the importance of these and other encountered pathogens were emphasized.
